(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW Golf Head Coach Aaron Allspach says it has been an odd start to the season — basically they have not been able to start the season because of the weather. When do they get a chance, the girls will have a team this year after low numbers prevented that the last several years. The boys have great numbers with 15 players out for the team and Allspach says there are three seniors that will lead the way
Junior Sam Sturm and Sophomores Andrew Lund, Kaeden Lane and Kavin Rold and Freshman Kiptyn Lamp will compete for spots four through six. Allspach likes having a lot of options
There are five girls out for golf this spring but Allspach says there is no clear number one. Sophomore Clara Pace and four seniors are on the team with Pace having the most experience
The seniors for the Lady Vikes are Lydia Fichter, Aubrey Graham, Ella Johnson and Kayla Lund.
AHSTW is scheduled to now open the season on Thursday against Red Oak and Underwood.
