(Atlantic) One year ago, Atlantic High School senior Hunter Quist set out to reach a goal of making the state swim meet. He accomplished that goal and is following that up with swimming at the next level. Quist says he will continue his swimming career at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
Quist wrapped up his junior season with the Atlantic High School team and started swimming with the Central Iowa Aquatics Squad in Des Moines.
The extra time invested exemplifies his commitment to achieving significant goals during his senior year on the Atlantic swim team. He mentions that his experiences and successes over this past summer boosted his confidence as he approached the high school season this past winter.
Quist says he is looking forward to taking it to the next level.
Iowa Central competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association and has a history of success. In 2024, the men’s team brought home bronze, finishing in third place in the overall standings. The women’s team finished in fifth place. Jody Riskowski took over the men’s and women’s swimming program in 2025.
