(Atlantic) Thirteen student-athletes reported to the Atlantic girls’ golf team this spring. Four players return from last season’s starting lineup. The returnees include Makenna Schroeder, Rylee Bengal, Nevaeh Fewson, and Mary Leonard.
Atlantic Head Coach Brooke Newell noted an injury kept Leonard out of the lineup.
The Trojans balance out the lineup with Payton Burg, Reese Ball, Addie Freund, Hope Hammontree, Madison McLaren, and Lily Willrich.
Coach Newell has high expectations for this year’s team.
Meanwhile, the team is working on rules, situation golf, chipping, putting, alignment, and some range work. The Trojans held their first nine-hole round one week ago. The Trojans open up at Crestmoor Country Club in Creston on April 7, and host a triangular on April 13 at Nishna Hills.
