(Atlantic, IA) — The Atlantic Boys Track and Field team is done with their indoor season and focus shifts outdoors starting next Tuesday. Senior D’artagnan Hansen competes in the 800 and one mile races for the Trojans and he has some work to do to achieve his goals this year
Hansen is going to enter the Iowa National Guard in August.
Senior Preston Williams is on the 4×800 relay — he was on the lead leg for the relay that made it to state last year and finished 22nd and three members including Williams returned this year. He says he feels like he has gotten better on the track each year in high school
Williams is planning on going to Simpson College where he will run track.
Senior Collin Rudy is also part of the 4×800 relay but he also runs in the open 400 and 800 and ran in the Distance Medley relay at NW Missouri St. last Saturday
Rudy would like his last season of track to be his best
Rudy is going to Iowa St. under a ROTC scholarship where he will study engineering and military science to train to become a military officer. The complete interviews with all three seniors will be on Atlantic Sports Saturday tomorrow at 9 am on KS 95.7 FM.
Atlantic boys will have their first outdoor meet on Tuesday, March 31 at Denison.
