(Atlantic) The Atlantic boys’ golf team brings back four key players from last year’s successful season. Seniors Hudson McLaren, the Hawkeye Ten Conference individual champion, and Sam Brosam, along with juniors Gage Gross and Brady Wood, form the core of a team that captured the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament title and earned a spot in the 2025 Class 3A State Golf Tournament.
Head coach Kendra Henningsen aims to build on that momentum, highlighting the strong offseason commitment shown by this experienced group.
The Trojans showed a lot of consistency throughout last season, building momentum into postseason play. McLaren, Gross, Wood, and Brosam demonstrated their ability to lead in various meets last season, creating a balanced lineup rather than relying on a single individual.
Coach Henningsen must fill two spots left open by Tristen Hayes and Treven Hanson. Henningsen will look to some of the players who led the Junior Varsity to an undefeated dual season.
Coach Henningsen says preseason practice will be no different from past years. She expects her players’ full attention.
Atlantic opens the season with an 18-hole tournament at Jester Park, followed by a dual tournament against Kuemper at Carroll on April 13.
