(Griswold, IA) — The Griswold girls track and field team sent some athletes to the IATC Indoor meet last week — Junior Carsyn Adams highlighted the Tigers with a 6th place finish in the 60 Meters Hurdles. Adams was a three time medalist last year for Griswold, finishing 8th in the 100 hurdles, 8th in the 400 Hurdles and anchored the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team to a 5th place finish. Her older sister Addison Adams has graduated so she will be the leader this year and Head Coach Rachel Larson expects a big season from her
The shuttle hurdle team is 50 percent intact from last year but Larson feels the new additions will make the unit just as strong this year
Larson is also excited about the 4×400 relay — they are on a similar pace to last year that finished 15th at state.
Larson also mentioned Sophomore Ella Gade is coming along in the throws, especially the discus
Overall, Griswold have 15 girls out for track and field and only one senior — Josie Millikan. Griswold will compete in another indoor meet — at NW Missouri St. this Saturday. Their first outdoor meet is Tuesday, March 31 at Bedford.
