(Atlantic, IA) — State Representative Tom Moore, Republican representing District 18, talked about many bills that are going through the state legislature at a forum in Atlantic on Saturday.
One is a hunter education bill that would eliminate the field day requirement. Under current law, Iowa youth must finish an online hunter education course and complete an in-person “field day” before they can get a state hunting license. Moore says it is not feasible to do it anymore
Moore also says they passed a bill that limits the governor’s powers which goes back to COVID in 2020
Moore also says they passed a bill to lock in your tuition at public universities — Iowa, Iowa St. and Northern Iowa.
Moore says that the State legislature will be considering bills passed in the Senate and vice versa all this week.
