A mid March blizzard has rocked the state of Iowa and the majority of its interstates have been closed.
Interstate 80 is closed from I-880 to West Des Moines and is also closed east of Des Moines at Altoona all the way to Coralville. There have been multiple incidents reported on the interstate.
In addition, I-35 is closed from Ames north to the Minnesota border. I-35 south of Des Moines to Van Wert, travel is not advised. I-29 from Little Sioux north through Sioux City and the South Dakota border, travel is not advised. I-29 south of Missouri Valley through Omaha is completely covered and south of Omaha is partially covered.
As of 10:00 CST, there are 17 counties in Iowa that have a no tow policy recommended, most of which in Northwest Iowa.
In western Iowa, the majority of roads have a travel not advised from Iowa Route 92 north to the Minnesota border.
