(Greenfield, IA) — Izzy Eisbach of Nodaway Valley was named first team all-state yesterday for the 2nd year in a row and not only that — she was named the Class 2A Player of the Year from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Eisbach led the entire state in scoring for the 2nd year in a row — averaging 32 points a game. Eisbach says she was not expecting the player of the year award but says it is meaningful for a couple of reasons
Eisbach finished with 2,270 points in her career which currently ranks 10th all time in Iowa 5 on 5 history. She says her role for Nodaway Valley changed from more of a facilitator as a freshman to a true number one scorer the last two years
Eisbach says her first ever shot as a freshman was an air ball that almost hit the ceiling. This year she is proud of how her team had to overcome some adversity to go 20-3
Her high school basketball career is not 100 percent finished — she has some all star games to play in
Eisbach has already committed to playing college basketball at NW Missouri St.
