Andy Wicks said the late start date for the project is July 13, but work could begin as early as May. The contractor will be allowed 80 working days to complete the project.
The project covers 14 miles of roadway, stretching from Highway 59 in Avoca all the way to Neola. The total road width will be 24 feet, and the shoulders will also be reconstructed.
