(Corning, IA) — Southwest Valley girls basketball had a dramatic turnaround from a season ago — the Timberwolves went from five wins to a 16-7 overall record. Head Coach Mike Cormack says the team set seven new individual records and seven new team records this year. It started with Senior Hailey Randall (18.7 ppg) who leaves as one of the greatest players in school history
Randall joined Senior starters Ada Lund (10.0 ppg) and Mackenzie Fast (11.0 ppg, 7.9 rbg) to form a dynamic trio. Cormack says that Fast set the school’s all time record in rebounds
For next season, Cormack realizes he will have to replace a lot of statistics but is excited about Junior Lydia Forsythe and Freshman Elin Hogan who were the Timberwolves other two starters plus Junior Mailee Templeton, Sophomore Nora Paul and others
Before this year, the last winning season for Southwest Valley girls basketball was 2018-19.
