Two-Vehicle Crash in Harrison County Claims One Life and Leaves Another Injured

(Harrison County) One person died, and another person suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Harrison County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Monday, at around 5:42 p.m. on Highway 30 west of 260^th Street. Authorities say 30-year-old Merari Eduviges Perez, of Manila, died in the crash. 57-year-old Daryl Jay Fichter of Missouri Valley suffered injuries.

According to the report, Merari Perez was driving a 2012 Toyota Rav4 eastbound on Highway 30 near 260^th, crossed the centerline, and collided with a westbound 2018 GM Sierra driven by Fichter.

Harrison County EMS transported both Perez and Fichter to the Missouri Valley Hospital.
