(Red Oak) Altrusa will construct a bench signifying the local nonprofit organization’s 100th anniversary on the campus of the Montgomery County Courthouse.
Rosalie Hansen, representing Altrusa International of Red Oak, explained that they are a nonprofit organization that improves local communities through leadership, partnership, and service. Altrusa International of Red Oak has 40 members and three emeritus members. Hansen is a 35-year member of this organization, and they celebrated their 100th anniversary last year.
Hansen’s presentation centered on a request to locate a powder-coated metal bench on the southeast side of the Montgomery County Courthouse lawn.
Hansen says they created a red bench with the Altrusa insignia, the 100th anniversary, and the number of years. She says the concrete base will be at ground level to make maintenance easier.
This nonprofit organization’s members work together to support local and global projects that promote lifelong learning and strengthen communities.
