AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (21-8, 9-8 Big 12) fell short of a senior night victory to Oklahoma State (22-8, 11-6 Big 12), 88-77 Wednesday night in Hilton Coliseum.
Jada Williams tallied 19 points and 10 assists in the loss, while Audi Crooks scored 19 and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sydney Harris and Addy Brown were the other Cyclones to score in double-figures, with 12 and 11, respectively.
The Cyclones started off the night with a bang, cashing in three straight 3-pointers from Sydney Harris on her senior night, Addy Brown and Arianna Jackson to start the game and force an Oklahoma State timeout. Audi Crooks continued the run and ballooned the lead to 11-0 before the Cowgirls would get on the board with a three. Oklahoma State fought back in it though, clawing all the way back to take a 15-13 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter. But Brown didn’t make that last long, as she hit another triple to give ISU the lead right back. The teams would head into the second quarter tied at 18.
The second period started in the same way as the first – a Harris triple to give the Cyclones a three-point advantage. Iowa State slowly extended the lead to 31-24 throughout the first half of the second quarter. The Cowgirls once again had an answer though, going on an 11-4 run to tie things up going into the halftime locker room. No Cyclone scored more than six points in the first half.
The second half began with both teams trading baskets in the first few minutes, with Jada Williams being the first Cyclone to crack double figures in scoring. ISU tried to break it open with a quick 7-0 run capped by a Harris three to take a five-point lead, but OSU answered again, and the Cyclones lead was just 50-47 entering the third quarter media timeout. The game once again saw multiple lead changes in a short amount of time after the break, and the period would end tied for the third straight time at 60.
The start of the fourth quarter swung back to the Cowgirls, as a 14-4 run to begin the period forced two timeouts by Bill Fennelly within the first five minutes. The Cyclones fought but couldn’t re-gain momentum and close the deficit, falling by a score of 88-77.
The Cyclones wrap up the regular season at Kansas State Sunday at 1 p.m. on FS1.

- Jada Williams posted her eighth double-double of the season with 19 points and a game-high 10 assists.
- Williams moved her season total to 223 assists, now the third-best single season mark at Iowa State. She passed previous marks from Lyndsey Medders at both third (216) and fourth (215).
