(Carroll, IA) — Audubon will play Coon Rapids Bayard tonight in a Class 1A District final boys basketball game, coverage on KS 95.7 FM.
The game will be played on a neutral court because CRB’s gym does not meet attendance requirements from the IHSAA. The Crusaders are the #1 seed in District 15 with a record of 22-1 and led by the Heydon brothers — Senior Cal has over 2,000 points for his career and averages 23.3 points per game while Junior Ty averages 13.6 points and 12 rebounds a game. First year Head Coach Steth Streebin says they work well together
Coon Rapids Bayard beat Logan Magnolia 74-51 in the first round and then topped AC/GC 72-43 in the district semifinals. CRB beat Audubon in the first game of the season 54-49 — Streebin says the Wheelers have tremendous balance
Audubon is 15-9 and beat Lenox in the first round 68-33 and got by IKM Manning in the district semis 55-52. The Wheelers limited the Wolves Ben Ramsey to just 13 points in the game — Head Coach Darran Miller says they will need a similar type defensive effort against the Heydons
Miller says most of the pressure will be on Coon Rapids Bayard and Audubon just has to come out and play loose
