(Audubon, IA) — Audubon will be sending boys wrestlers to the state tournament this week — Leyton Elmquist at 113 and Jon Rasmussen at 138 are there for the 2nd year in a row while Karter Obermeier at 150 and Lane Meyer at 285 will make their first trips to state. For Meyer, this is his first year of wrestling so to make it to the state tournament is an incredible achievement says Head Coach Tyler Christensen
Meyer is 37-17 and will face Jack Sheeder of AC/GC in the first round who is 34-11. Rasmussen is 34-11 and will face Max Pollack of Wayne who is 33-2. Obermeier will wrestle Mason Houser of Riverside who is 38-10. Elmquist is 45-8 and is a number 7 seed with a first round bye. Leyton’s brother Lane did not qualify for state in his senior year and Christensen speaks highly of him

First round action for Audubon and all the Class 1A schools at the state wrestling tournament will begin at 9 am Thursday morning, we will have updates throughout the tournament from the Casey’s Center in Des Moines on KSOM.
