(Holstein, IA) — Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard went to Ridge View High School to compete in the district tournament (Class 1A, District #8) — the Wheelers will send four wrestlers to the state tournament while the Crusaders will send four to the Casey’s Center.
For Audubon, Leyton Elmquist was the district champ at 113 winning in the semifinals by fall at 1:58 and in the finals 9-2. Lane Meyer won the district title at 285 , pinning his way to first place with three matches 1:07, 5:10, and 1:42 in the finals. This is the first year of wrestling for Meyer. Jon Rasmussen was 2nd at 138, Karter Obermeier makes his first trip to state at 150 finishing 2nd.
