(Menlo) Due to a water main break, the City of Menlo will be under a boil advisory until further notice.
Xenia Rural Water District recommends boiling water before drinking or using an alternative source.
According to the press release, the Xenia Rural Water District experienced a distribution-system issue and lost pressure on February 10, 2026. Due to the risk of bacterial contamination, it is recommended that the water be boiled before drinking or cooking, or that an alternative source be used.
The system has been repaired, repressurized, and bacterial samples will be collected. This advisory remains in effect until bacterial sample results are available. You will be notified when the results are available and the advisory is lifted.
The system is working with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to resolve the situation.
