(Elk Horn, IA) — On Friday, Exira EHK girls basketball clinched the Rolling Valley conference regular season title with a 70-41 win over CAM. The Spartans are ranked #7 in Class 1A with a 17-1 overall record — Junior Taryn Petersen leads the team averaging 20.2 points per game and she says its a big deal to win the conference
Petersen is not shy about shooting — she has attempted 130 three pointers this season and made 35 of them for just a 27 percent rate but she has faith in her team to get the offensive rebounds with Harlow Miller and her cousin Jaelynn Petersen leading the way
The regional brackets will be released this Thursday and the top 8 teams in the rankings get #1 seeds which means home field advantage until the regional finals. Petersen says that is a big advantage
Exira EHK has a veteran line-up with the two Petersens, Kadence Sporrer and Riley Miller plus throw in Harlow Miller and Zoey Rasmussen into the rotation and Petersen says its all coming together
Exira EHK’s game at Atlantic has been cancelled tonight, the Spartans will host Glidden Ralston on Tuesday.
