(Atlantic) An Atlantic man suffered injuries in a car versus moped accident south of Atlantic.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened around 10:22 p.m. on Highway 71 near the 58.5-mile marker. Authorities say 26-year-old Blaine Morse of Atlantic was injured in the crash.
According to the report, Morse was operating a moped in the southbound lane on Highway 71 and was struck by a southbound 2018 Chevy Malibu driven by 26-year-old Detrich Engstrand of Clarinda, Iowa.
Cass EMS transported Morse to Cass Health.
The accident is under investigation.
The Atlantic Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
