(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors authorized signing the Iowa Public Information Board resolution. County Attorney Matt Wilber said this relates to the open meetings complaint filed by former County Engineer John Rasmussen.
Wilber said the staff at the IPIB has reviewed that complaint and determined that there was no violation regarding the decision not to renew his contract. However, staff was concerned that the administrative leave provision was not sufficiently noticed.
Wilber noted that the complaint was specifically made against Supervisors Tim Wichman, Jeff Jorgensen, and former Supervisor Scott Belt. He said there has been no finding of wrongdoing, no hearing has taken place, and this is simply an opportunity to close the file with the understanding that there are obligations under Chapter 21 regarding the specificity of agendas.
