(Atlantic) Atlantic freshman Benny McLarens’ 43 combined points helped lead the Trojans to wins over Red Oak and Clarke last week. For his effort, Benny McLaren is the KS 95.7 Armour Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
McLaren poured in a game-high 28 points in the win over Red Oak on Tuesday, January 20, to lead the Trojans to a 72-point outing. McLaren knocked down five three-pointers, added six two-point field goals, and went 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
McLaren followed that up with 15 points in the Trojans ‘ season-best 77-47 victory over Clarke on January 22.
Benny McLaren had appeared in eleven games for the Trojans leading up to Monday’s game at Creston. He had scored 64 points while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 31 percent from behind the three-point line.
