(Atlantic) Glenwood and Atlantic matchup in a key boys’ wrestling dual tonight at Clarinda. Both teams are undefeated in Hawkeye Ten Conference dual matches. This dual could go a long way in deciding the Hawkeye Ten Conference dual champion.
Coach Duff says it starts at the top for Glenwood with Drake Buthe at 285 and Mason Koehler at 215.
The Rams have four ranked wrestlers competing tonight, according to the latest Iawrestle.com rankings. Koehler ranked number #1 at 215, and Buthe ranked #7 at 285. Joe Leick, a freshman wrestling at 126 and 132, is rated #5 at 126, and Nile Lundvall at 175 is ranked #8. Three wrestlers are ranked in Atlantic on Iawrestle.com. Van Horn #12 at 106, Braxton Hass #7 at 132, and Jayden Harter is rated #8 at 157.
In the Clarinda dual, Coach Duff says the 106-pound match is between #12th-ranked Dayton Van Horn of Atlantic and Fisher Graves of Clarinda. Duff notes Baylor Hash at 215, for Clarinda, and Travin Thomas of Atlantic should be a good matchup. Will Sump, at (175), is another solid wrestler for the Cardinals.
The meet starts at 5:30 p.m. with Glenwood and Clarinda. Atlantic will take on Glenwood after that, and Atlantic and Clarinda in the nightcap. We will broadcast it live on westerniowatoday.com starting at 6:15 p.m.
