(Clarinda) Online court records indicate a Clarinda man arrested in November on a felony charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, causing bodily injury, is scheduled to be sentenced January. 26. The charge against 34-year-old Cody Dean Nevada Carlson stems from an investigation by the Clarinda Police Department into an incident alleged to have occurred on or about Oct. 23, 2025.
According to the criminal complaint, Carlson allegedly bit the victim multiple times, causing pain and bodily injury, both before and after being told to stop. On Thursday, Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Craig Dreismeier approved an order elevating the original charge after Clarinda police amended their complaint.
