(Oakland, IA) — It’s been nothing but wins for the Bulldogs since their season-opening loss to St. Albert and they’re hunting for their 11th win in a row on the road against Missouri Valley tonight. Their most recent win was arguably their best, a 45-43 home victory to #1 ranked conference rival Treynor, a team that was undefeated until coming across the Bulldogs. A 20-point surge in the third quarter was just enough to hold off Treynor’s lethal offense, giving Riverside the top spot in the Western Iowa Conference. Head Coach Mark Jeppesen says the Cardinals began to double up on Sydney Somers in the post which opened up opportunities for the rest of the squad:
When it’s not game day, Jeppesen’s philosophy as a head coach is to keep nailing down the fundamentals in practice. Earlier in the season, Jeppesen says the team could run out of control at times, so focusing on keeping the play alive and playing on two feet is key:
Jeppesen credits Missouri Valley’s solid and trap-heavy defense:
The Riverside Girls’ Basketball team will visit Missouri Valley in hopes of keeping their hot streak alive tonight.
