(Creston) One person was transported by ground ambulance to Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston following a single-vehicle accident in Creston on Saturday.
According to the Creston Police, the accident happened at 3:15 p.m. at 1101 West Spencer Street in Creston. When they arrived, they found a male and a female with injuries. Medic 1 transported the female to the hospital. The male, identified as 22-year-old Wyatt Bryce Beebe of Creston, suffered from significant road rash.
Police say that during the investigation, Beebe and two friends allegedly attempted to mislead officers. They first stated it was an ATV crash and claimed other people, whom they did not know, picked up the ATV from the scene. Eventually, Beebe admitted this was a motorcycle accident, and they hid it in the garage of a residence.
Subsequently, Officers determined that Beebe was driving a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Lincoln Street when a friend driving a vehicle in front of him slowed abruptly, causing Beebe to lose control of the motorcycle and lay the bike on its side. The Kawasaki slid approximately 270 feet, coming to rest after crashing through Robert Vogel’s PVC fence.
Beebe’s friends helped push the motorcycle from the scene and hid it in Beebe’s garage. Police believe speed played a factor in the crash.
Officers cited Beebe for failing to provide proof of financial liability, having no valid driver’s license, careless driving, and operating a non-registered vehicle.
