(Atlantic) The Camblin Hills Housing Development project is progressing. Vision Atlantic President Christina Bateman says two condominiums, each with four housing units, are taking shape along Olive Street.
Bateman says further up the hill, the foundations are poured for 10 more condos, with framing starting soon. Bateman says most of the tiny homes are framed, and the excavation process has begun on the smaller and larger single-family homes, with foundations to be dug this week.
Bateman says the first-year build includes 10 tiny homes, each 400 to 850 square feet, owned by Vision Atlantic and rented out as Airbnb-style dwellings.
In total, 14 condos and 24 single-family homes, ranging from minor to larger, will be going up.
Meanwhile, fundraising continues for the 300-capacity childcare center and the YMCA expansion project. The committee has raised 33.8 million dollars in signed pledges, met the 80-percent goal last month, and is looking to meet the 100-percent goal by the end of this year.
Bateman says prospective donors can reach out to any committee member. She says donations can be pledged for up to three years.
