(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon girls wrestling team got their first taste of the mat in the new year on Saturday, finishing a solid 5th place in the 19 team Clarinda Tournament. The Wheelers had two champions including Macy Rasmussen at 110 pounds who got three falls and won by injury default in the championship match. Rasmussen is now an impressive 36-2 on the season and Head Coach Maryssa Soder says she never panics in any match
The other champ was Jordan Mulford at 105 pounds who went 3-0 with 3 falls and is now 19-13 on the season. At 140 pounds, Elena Harbour finished in 3rd place going 4-1 with 4 falls and is now 30-8. Soder says she has an aggressive style
Also for Audubon, Olivia Poldberg is 13-5, Laura McCarville is 17-11, Mackayla Zuniga is 16-12, Emma Korwest is 13-13, and Liv Inman is 10-11. Overall, Soder says they have worked hard over the winter break to prepare for January which will end with regionals on January 30th
