(Eddyville) Atlantic won three of four matches at the Eddyville–Blakesburg–Fremont Dual Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. The Trojans defeated Southeast Polk 45–28, Mediapolis 71–6, and Lincoln College Prep 65–10, before falling to host Eddyville–Blakesburg–Fremont 56–17.
Donovan Hedrington (190) and Dreven Smith (165) both finished the tournament with perfect 4–0 records. Hedrington not only went undefeated but also eclipsed the 100-win milestone in his career. The senior earned four pins during the tournament, pushing his career total to 103 victories. Smith recorded three falls and added another win by forfeit.
Seven other Atlantic wrestlers finished the dual tournament with 3–1 records. Dayton Van Horn (106) recorded two pins and a win by forfeit, with his lone loss coming by technical fall. Keaton Schroeder (120) earned one pin and two forfeit victories, also suffering his only defeat by technical fall.
Hunter Kinzie (126) picked up a win by technical fall, two victories by forfeit, and was pinned in his lone loss. Braxton Hass (132) opened the day with a pin, lost by major decision, and closed the tournament with two more falls. Landon Hagen (138) dropped his first match by decision before rebounding with three straight wins by fall.
Jayden Harter (157) tallied two pins and a technical fall, with his only setback coming by fall. At heavyweight, Cooper Woolsey (285) notched two pins and a forfeit win, finishing 3–1 after a loss by fall.
Travin Thomas (215) went 2-1 on the day with two wins by forfeit and lost by a fall. Carter Hadley (144) finished the tournament at 2-2, posting two wins by Tech Fall, and lost his two matches by major decision.
