(Greenfield, IA) — After a season opening loss to Mount Ayr, the Nodaway Valley girls basketball team is rolling into the winter break, winning six in a row including a 67-63 win over Atlantic last Monday. Izzy Eisbach once again leads the state in scoring, averaging 35.3 points per game but also has 7.3 rebounds, 5.9 steals and 3.4 assists per game. Her Head Coach and Dad Brian Eisbach says she has forgotten about a game one performance against Mount Ayr where she was 7 of 40 from the field
Sophomore Mattison Thompson missed the start of the season but played the last three games in December and is starting to get back in the swing of things. Eisbach identified two players who will be key developing their game moving forward — freshman Abigail Nelson is fit in well in the starting line up while Sophomore Ella Boswell is just 2 of 20 shooting threes
Mount Ayr beat Nodaway Valley 58-48 and the rematch is on January 13. There are games to be played before then says Eisbach but they definitely circled that date on their schedule
Nodaway Valley will host 5-2 Central Decatur this Friday.
