(Red Oak) Montgomery County Communications at 5:09 a.m. on Sunday dispatched the Red Oak Fire Department to 911 N 4th Street for a reported detached garage fully engulfed in flames.
According to Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce, Auto-Aid was summoned for the Stanton Fire Department and the Elliott Fire Departments. Arriving Fire crews reported heavy fire coming from a detached garage, with fire extension to the residence to the south, residence to the north, and the residence to the west. One car located to the west was fully engulfed, with damage to an additional three vehicles and a camper.
Additional mutual aid was requested from Essex, and the Shenandoah Fire Department for “Aerial Support”
Chief Bruce says the garage and contents are a total loss ( value unknown at time of release). The damage to west residence (structure and vehicles) is unknown at the time of this release. Damage to the southern residence appears to be limited to the exterior siding.
