(Undated) A single ticket sold in Arkansas matched all the winning numbers in the Powerball drawing held on Christmas Eve, securing the game’s massive $1.817 billion jackpot. Lottery officials said the prize carries an estimated cash value of $834.9 million, making it the second-largest lottery jackpot ever won in U.S. history.
The only larger jackpot occurred on Nov. 7, 2022, when a ticket sold in California claimed a record-setting $2.04 billion prize.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 4, 25, 31, 52 and 59, with the Powerball number 19. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Beyond the jackpot winner, eight players nationwide matched all five white balls to win $1 million each. An additional 114 tickets earned $50,000 prizes, while 31 tickets won $100,000.
With the jackpot now claimed, the Powerball prize will reset to $20 million ahead of the next drawing, scheduled for Saturday.
