(Adair Co.) On Wednesday, Adair County Engineer Nick Kauffman updated the Board of Supervisors on a potential transmission line that would go through Adair County.
Kauffman said this would be the largest transmission line built in the state of Iowa.
The line would be not be in service between 2032 and 2034. At this time, it is unknown what the route would be. Kauffman mainly wanted to inform the board about the conversation he had with a potential bidder and noted that, as part of the county’s comprehensive plan discussions, they may want to review their ordinances if the county wants to maintain some control.
In other activity, the Supervisors approved the purchase of a motor grader for the Secondary Road Department, they approved a new deputy hire for the Sheriff’s Office and approved extended unpaid leave of absence for an employee in the Sheriff’s Office.
