(Lenox) The Lenox Fire Department was dispatched at 9:50 PM on Saturday to a house fire at 300 S. Maple Street.
According to the Lenox Fire Department Facebook Page, upon arrival, crews encountered multiple large explosions and found the structure fully engulfed in flames. Several oxygen tanks and propane tanks were discovered inside.
Firefighters quickly suppressed most of the blaze, but the multiple additions to the house created hidden spaces, making it difficult to reach all areas with water. The home is considered a total loss.
The resident managed to escape but suffered injuries and was transported by Taylor County Ambulance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire crews returned to the station around 4:30 AM on Sunday.
The Lenox Fire Department thanks the Taylor County Ambulance, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lenox Municipal Utilities for their assistance.
