(Atlantic) — On January 1, 2026, Atlantic will welcome a new mayor. Rob Clausen will assume the role.
On Wednesday, Clausen was sworn in along with incumbent Second Ward City Councilman Jim Behrens, and City Councilman At-Large, Jeremy Butler, who was appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Council and ran unopposed in the November election.

The City Council also heard annual presentations from Library Director Michelle Andersen, Ciara Hoegh, Market Manager from Produce in the Park, and Representatives from Meals on Wheels.
The Council also authorized the use of a preliminary official statement for the sale of general obligation corporate purpose refunding bonds.
