(Corning, IA) — The Southwest Valley Timberwolves are 5-1 to start the season and have a busy handful of days ahead of them, traveling to Griswold tomorrow then hosting Southeast Warren on Friday, followed by a visit to Martensdale-St. Mary’s to start off next week. The Timberwolves have won the majority of their games in commanding fashion with their only loss coming from Mt. Ayr 64-69. Head Coach Kyle Bashor says it’s been a great start to the season:
A stat that stands out with Southwest Valley is their efficiency from the field, shooting 48.1% in their first six match-ups. They spread the ball around too, with seven players averaging four points-per-game or more. The Timberwolves still have standout players in Wyatt Mendenhall and Cael Hogan, the latter seeing slight hikes in his points and assists-per-game compared to last year. Bashor credits Hogan’s talent as a competitor:
Bashor says that players deeper on the roster have also provided great value to the team including Memphis Peterson and Evan Fast:
The Timberwolves will look to continue their hot streak as they visit Griswold tomorrow.
