(Council Bluffs) The Atlantic Boy’s wrestling team finished 13th out of the 39-team field at the Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic over the weekend. The Trojans scored 255-points over the two-day tournament.
Braxton Hass finished in third place in the 132-pound weight class, winning by a medical forfeit over Ryan Fletcher of Underwood. and Donovan Hedrington finished 5th place at 190. Hass lost to the eventual champion Creighton Lassen of Millard, West in the semi-finals. The Atlantic senior bounced back for third place. Donovan Hedrington defeated Sam Lungrin of Kearney, by an 8-1 decision in the fifth-place match.
The other notable finishers for the Trojans included: Keaton Schroeder, (126), ninth, Jayden Harter, (157), ninth, and Kalvin Hayes, (150) finished 12th.
Glenwood finished ninth in the team race with 306 points. Mason Koehler, (215) finished in first place. The senior defeated Joe Kruse of Totino-Grace by a 9-2 decision in the finals. Drake Buthe, (285), and Ace Cochrane (106), each finished second. Quinn Lane, (120) finished in eighth place, and Nile Lundvall, (175) ended up ninth.
Underwood placed two top five finishers. Kaleb Nelson, (175), and Ryan Fletcher, (132) finished in fourth place.
