(Ames, IA) — At a press conference on Monday morning, Jimmy Rogers was introduced as the 34th Head Coach in Iowa St. football history. Rogers says he is impressed with the growth of the Iowa St. program and the loyal support of the fans. He says he will work hard to continue the recent winning tradition of the Cyclones
Rogers comes from Washington St. where he spent only one season running the Cougars and playing largely an independent schedule went 6-6. Rogers says he did not intend to leave Washington St. after just one season but the opportunity to coach Iowa St. was too good to pass up
Rogers had to replace about three fourths of Washington St.’s roster so he is used to working the transfer portal but he hopes he will not have to do that at Iowa St.
Rogers did thank Matt Campbell for his 10 years as head coach saying he has built a solid culture of winning.
