(Oakland, IA) — Riverside will host IKM Manning in a Girls Boys Basketball Doubleheader tonight, coverage on KSOM.
The Bulldog girls are ranked #14 in Class 2A and are 2-1 with wins over Exira EHK and Missouri Valley and a loss to 1A #1 St. Albert. Sophia Fenner leads with 10.0 points a game but the 5-4 Junior actually has more rebounds than points — 34 to 30 and is averaging 11.5 boards a game. Head Coach Mark Jeppesen says she is fearless
The Wolves are 1-1 with a blowout win over Tri Center and a blowout loss to AC/GC. IKM Manning is led by 5-6 Senior Anna Stangl at 18 ppg but is only shooting 21 percent on her three point shots
On the boys side, Riverside is 2-0 with one sided wins over Missouri Valley and Exira EHK. Owen Fenner leads at 16 ppg, Peyton Amdor is at 12 ppg and Cole Jeppesen averages 13 ppg but sprained his ankle the other day and Head Coach Nick Kroon hopes he can play but will be a game time decision and it will be a decision on defending the Wolves leader Ben Ramsey
Ramsey is one of the best scorers in the Western Iowa Conference — he had 18 points in the Wolves only game a 78-46 loss to Tri Center. Last season, he averaged 22.4 points a game — he has 1216 career points and a career average of nearly 17 a game with a total of 202 threes
