Tracy Perkins, 64, of Atlantic, Iowa, entered eternal rest with his Savior Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Tracy Lee Perkins was born on August 1, 1961, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Claude and Sharon (Blunt) Perkins. The family spent one year in Colorado before moving back to Strahan, IA, then to Red Oak, and finally to Randolph. He graduated from Fremont-Mills High School in Tabor in 1980, and at a graduation party Tracy met Rebecca Ann Rossell. Tracy went on to attend Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda, where he was on the varsity baseball team. In 1981, he had a brief tryout with the Kansas City Royals. He did not make the team, but did make it down to the last 5 outfielders. After this he began his career as an over-the-road truck driver.
Tracy and Rebecca were married on November 24, 1984, at the Mount View Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE and made Atlantic home. To this union they welcomed four children: Daniel, Oran, Joshua, and Diana.
As a truck driver Tracy worked for several trucking companies and for Walnut Grove hauling feed. In 1997, Tracy began his career with Shared Medical Services, where he worked in various capacities until his retirement in 2025. His retirement allowed him to spend more time with his grandchildren, Madeline and Makenna, and tinker with his beloved model railroad layout in his garage.
Tracy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Helen Blunt and James and Maude Perkins; parents, Claude and Sharon Perkins; and his wife, Rebecca.
Tracy is survived by his children: Daniel Perkins of Volga, SD, Oran (Vanessa) Perkins and their children Madeline and Makenna of Atlantic, Joshua Perkins of Atlantic, and Diana Perkins of Volga, SD.
