(Red Oak) A Nebraska man, listed on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, is facing serious charges following an investigation into his suspicious activities by the Red Oak Police Department.
The 22-year-old, identified as Jauson Ray Schriner from Adams, Nebraska, allegedly posed as a 20-year-old while staying with a minor child and provided officers with a false name during the investigation. Authorities later confirmed Schriner’s identity and discovered he was wanted for a probation violation stemming from a previous conviction for attempting to engage in sexual acts with a 13-year-old by posing online as a teenager. He has been arrested on charges including grooming (a Class D Felony), Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement (a Simple Misdemeanor), and Fugitive from Justice, with more charges pending.
The Red Oak Police Department expressed gratitude to the Lincoln and Beatrice Police Departments in Nebraska for their collaboration during the investigation. They also took the opportunity to remind the public of the potential dangers of social media.
