(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines issued a Winter Storm Watch for nearly the entire state of Iowa starting Friday evening through early Sunday morning.
This includes all of southwest and west-central Iowa, except Fremont and Page counties.
The forecast is for 6-14 inches of snow, with a light glaze of ice possible.
Travel may be difficult or impossible, impacting post-Thanksgiving travel.
