(Griswold, IA) — The Tiger Rainbow Six Siege team from Griswold High School concluded its season at the 2025 Fall Finals Showdown on November 19, finishing 8th after facing a daunting bracket.
The team showed continuous growth throughout the regular season, finishing with a strong 4-3 record. Crucially, three of those wins came in the final three weeks of play, demonstrating significant improvement leading into the playoffs. As the momentum built, the team faced the formidable DNH squad (5-2) in the first round of the playoffs. Playing as a remarkably cohesive unit, the Tigers battled back and forth in the first match on Nighthaven Labs, eventually pulling away with four consecutive attacking round wins to secure the map. The second game on Clubhouse was equally intense, but the Tigers leveraged three strong defensive rounds to close out the game and solidify their spot in the State Finals.

The state tournament started off with three matches that offered a spectrum of results against Greene County: beginning with a decisive 7-5 victory on Clubhouse, then facing two consecutive losses against Greene Co. The initial win saw strong coordination and individual performance, highlighted by Quentyn’s 11 kills and a clutch final-round plant by Wyatt, protected by Colten. However, the team struggled in the subsequent matches, losing 7-4 on Nighthaven Labs despite Wyatt’s 9 kills, as a late-game surge failed to secure the required rounds. This downward spiral culminated in a devastating 7-0 shutout loss on Border against the same opponent, where a complete lack of cohesion and strategy prevented the team from taking a single round, with Callen being the only player to survive even a single round.

The Tigers faced a highly competitive, three-map double-elimination series against AHSTW, ultimately losing the match 2-1. The series began on Border with a narrow 7-5 loss, despite spectacular individual heroics from Wyatt, who achieved a triple-kill round and an Ace-Round, and a triple-kill from Quentyn; the team lost momentum after the mid-point, struggling with post-plant protection. The Tigers answered back fiercely on Clubhouse, delivering an announcer-dubbed “Eviceration” with a 7-3 win, showcasing excellent teamwork, strong operator picks like RJ’s Blackbeard, and another clutch 1v1 win by Wyatt to secure the map. The decisive map was Nighthaven Labs, where technical issues and a breakdown in team cohesion allowed AHSTW to pull ahead after the first few rounds. Although the Tigers rallied defensively to win Rounds 9 and 10 (including a flawless round), they ultimately lost 7-4 in Round 11 after failing to locate the bomb site, ending their tournament run.
