(Lewis) The DNR is already looking ahead to next summer. John Lorenzen, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, says temporary water patrol officers are needed at multiple locations around the state. He says water patrol officers check for compliance with Iowa’s navigation and fishing regulations and help ensure a safe recreational environment for lake users.
Additionally, water patrol officers are also looking for compliance with the drinking and boating laws on the water. The available positions are split in southwest Iowa, between Lake Manawa, Carter Lake, and the Missouri River.
Those interested in applying need to visit the state of Iowa career website and submit their application by December 15.
