(Neola, IA) — Tri-Center had big expectations coming off a Class A State Championship in the 2024 season, and a bump up to Class 1A didn’t seem to faze the Trojans and new head coach Steve Peterson as they finished the regular season 5-3. Injuries were a key difference for Tri-Center’s season, however, as they fell short to Ridge View in the first round of postseason. When asked how he would sum up the regular season, head coach Steve Peterson said despite playing up a class this year, the team competed well:
The Trojans graduate eight seniors this year, all of them playing vital roles for the squad. Wide receivers Cael Witt and 1A receiving yards leader Zach Nelson both graduate as well as the team’s co-sack leaders Aiden Osbahr and Ethan Georgius. Peterson says they’ll be tough to replace, but he was grateful to see younger players get some varsity reps this year:
Where graduation will also be felt is on the offensive line, as Peterson will start some younger talent there as well:
This was Coach Peterson’s first year as the head coach for Tri-Center, and he says there was a lot to learn from his first season:
Eyes will be on the Tri-Center Trojans as they bring new talent onto the gridiron in the 2026 season.
