(Anita, IA) — The CAM girls basketball team is coming off a solid 13-11 season but is losing their leading scorer. Maddie Richter (16.8 ppg) shot over 40 percent from three point land and was a reliable scoring threat for the Cougars but Junior Ada Hanson (10.2 ppg) does return this season. Head Coach Joe Wollum believes she has the ability to take over that number one scoring spot
CAM also returns Senior Krista James (4.8 ppg, 5.5 rbg) plus Juniors Ruthie Rich (4.2 ppg) and Courtney Follmann (4.3 ppg) plus Sophomore Ailey Wahlert (4.4 ppg) and Wollum thinks you will see a significant improvement in all four players
Senior Daphna Wahlert (2.6 ppg) will lead the bench along with Sophomores Keely Kinney and Kesley Platt and Freshman Brylie Steffen — Wollum expects a rotation of up to 10 girls this year. He expects the three point shooting to improve, he is working hard in practice at halfcourt defense and rebounding will be the biggest key
CAM opens their season on Tuesday, November 25 at home against AHSTW.
