(Iowa Falls) The Iowa Falls Police Department released more information on the deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday Morning.
According to the press release, at approximately 3:58 a.m., Hardin County Dispatch received a 911 call from 1108 Willow Lane in Iowa Falls. The caller advised that there were multiple individuals at that location that were unresponsive. When Iowa Falls Officer’s and Hardin County Deputies arrived, three individuals were inside the residence, deceased from gunshot wounds. One person was transported to the Hansen Family Hospital with a non-fatal gunshot wound. The three deceased individuals were transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny.
The subsequent investigation was able to determine that the shooting was a result of a domestic situation isolated to the residence. Two of the people that died from gunshot wounds are identified as 42-year-old Jessica Marie Bennett of Iowa Falls, and 51-year-old Alan Jandro Karalius of Garner, Iowa. The third deceased individual found inside the residence was also identified as 45-year-old Shawn Michael Bean of Iowa Falls.
Authorities determined that Bean died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting Jessica Marie Bennett, Alan Jandro Karalius, and a third person. who is not being identified at this time. The unidentified person is expected to survive.
The Iowa Falls Police Department is being assisted in the investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Hardin County E-Squad, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Iowa State Patrol.
