(Anita) The Cass County communities of Anita, Griswold, and Lewis featured contested races for city council.
Eyon Steffensen, John Knutson, and Deanna Andrews earned the three seats on the Anita City Council. The trio was among eight candidates running for three seats. Steffenson garnered the most votes with 124, John Knutson was close behind with 123, and Deanna Andrews mustered 85 votes. Shelli Hogueison received 84 votes, Kevin Littleton received 73, Kim Miller received 49, Mark Harris received 42, and Sara L. Sisler received 37.
Five candidates ran for two seats on the Griswold City Council. Nick Demanett received 84 votes, and Jim Ridlen mustered 83 votes to earn the two seats. Troy Nicklaus finished with 71b votes, Jesse Doty, 51, and Kevin Farr received 48 votes.
Betty Auten and Russell Miller were the top vote getters in the race for the two seats on the Lewis City Council. Auten received 109 votes, and Miller garnered 97. Jim Triller pulled in 58, and David Raymond, 53.
In Marne, three candidates are running for two seats. Aaron Williams received 19 votes, and Angela Redler, 16. Kyle Fredricksen finished close behind with 15 votes.
