(Area) From mayoral contests to school board elections, ballots in today’s City/School Election will feature a wide range of local races across southwest Iowa.
Adair County
There is a race for two At Large City Council seats in the City of Greenfield. Candidates include Rita Eble, Carl Fause, Jeff Clayton, and Nathan Hubenka.
In the City of Casey, four candidates are running for two At Large City Council seats, including Cody Sheeder, Jennifer Geren-Penton, Tyler Stolk, and LeRoy Hall.
Three candidates are running for two At Large City Council seats in the City of Bridgewater. Candidates include James C. McCall, Tyler Warrior, and Douglas Miller.
In Fontanelle, Shawna Herr, Daniel Miller, Andrea Martin, Amando Guerrero, and Nancy Embree are running for two At Large City Council seats.
There is a race for Mayor and three At Large City Council seats in the City of Stuart. John Gulbranson and Cory Kirkpatrick are running for Mayor. Trevor Nelson, Angela Capps, Alan L Bovee, Krinstna Renslow, and Zach Ingwers are running for City Council.
Three candidates are running for two Director At Large seats for the Nodaway Valley School Board, including Daniel Shilling, Mary Dodson, and Kristen Jensen.
Adams County
There is a race for three City Council seats in the City of Prescott. Candidates include Emily Riedel, Douglas M Privett, Shyla Walter, and Don Gee.
Four candidates are running for three seats on the Corning School Board, including Staci Venteicher, Nick Wetzel, Adam Boswell, and Ryan Shuey.
Audubon County
There is a race for three City Council seats in the City of Audubon. Candidates include Brooke Wegner, Bruce A. Christensen, Jeff Jacobsen, and Rodney Benton.
In the City of Exira, three candidates are running for two City Council seats, including Dory Schrader, Christina Nelson, and Matt Long.
Four candidates are running for three City Council seats in the City of Kimballton. Candidates include Sheila Partridge, Dirk Wasson, Peggy Mortensen, and Thomas Lake.
Several candidates are running for three seats on the Exira-EHK School Board, including Anna Schleimer, Nick Fredericksen, Eric Konecne, Deborah King, Beth Larsen, Emily Paulsen, and Abby Rasmussen. There is also a race for a Board Vacancy with a term ending in 2027 between Anthony L. Hough and Cally Lee Christensen.
Cass County
There is a race for three City Council seats in the City of Anita. Candiates include Deanna Andrews, Shelli Hogueison, Kim Miller, Eyon Steffensen, Mark Harris, John Knutson, Sara L. Sisler, and Kevin Littleton.
In the City of Griswold, five candidates are running for two City Council seats, including Troy Nicklaus, Jesse Doty, Nick Demanett, Kevin Farr, and Jim Ridlen.
Four candidates are running for two City Council seats in the City of Lewis. Candidates include Russell Miller, Jim Triller, David Raymond, and Betty Auten.
In Marne, Angela Redler, Kyle Frederiksen and Aaron Williams are running for two City Council seats.
There is a race for two At Large seats on the Atlantic School Board. Candidates include Justin Williams, Jordan Zarbano, Chet Meneely, and Josh McLaren.
Guthrie County
There is a race for three At Large City Council seats in the City of Bayard. Candidates include Shelby Richards, Jessica Pruter, Arnold Kesselring, Andrew Stringer, and Nathan McAlister.

There is a race for City Council At Large in the City of Red Oak between John Gross and Jeanice Lester. Two candidates appear on the ballot for Mayor, including John Haidsiak and Tim Fridolph. However, John Haidsiak had announced he was leaving the race after making controversial statements at a community forum.
In the City of Stanton, four candidates are running for three At Large City Council seats, including Chris Stephens, Justin Rhamy, Wes Royal, and Jeff Sebeniecher.
For Stanton School Board, Alex Cabbage, Ryan Hart, Jaclyn Hoyt, and Cameron Lewellen are running for three seats.
Pottawattamie County
There is a race for Mayor and City Council in the City of Carson. Rodney Morrison, Bret Sherkenbach, and Lyndon Taylor and running for Mayor. Drake Roller, Charles Pleak, Drake R. Colvin, Tate Brandon, and Andrew Taylor and running for three City Council seats.
There is also a race for Mayor and City Council in the City of Macedonia. Melia Clark and Paden Knoke are running for Mayor. James M. Croson, Gary L. Wax, Paul Faxon, Suzann Duede, and Joseph Cope are running for two City Council seats.
In the City of Oakland, four candidates are running for three seats on City Council, including Phil Reed, Jordan Sherbondy, Darin J. Ford, and Collin Applegate.
Two candidates are running for Mayor in the City of Underwood, including Josh Madsen and Dennis Bardsley.
There is a race for Mayor and City Council in the City of Walnut. Justen Tooley and Wm. Brett Simpson are running for Mayor. Tim Branan, Aiden Akers, Adrian Griffith, Michael Chapman, and Kevin Clark are running for three City Council seats.
Shelby County
Three candidates are running for two City Council seats in the City of Elk Horn, including Derick Hogberg, Justin Larsen, and Samuel Preis.
Five candidates are running for three City Council seats in the City of Irwin, including Jessica Holloway, Lana Schwieso, Lee Ferry, Greg Gaer, and Bryce Bruck.
Several candidates are running for three seats on the Exira-EHK School Board, including Anna Schleimer, Nick Fredericksen, Eric Konecne, Deborah King, Beth Larsen, Emily Paulsen, and Abby Rasmussen. In the IKM Manning School District, Lucas Cole Potthoff, Jeremy Puck and Nick Schechinger are running for two Director at Large seats. Josh Linde and Grant Stracke are competing for the Director District 2B seat.
