(Atlantic) The Atlantic cross-country season concluded last week, with Katrina Williams and Mason Betts representing the team at the State Meet.
Head Coach Dan Vargason, appearing on Atlantic Sports Saturday, summarized the girls’ journey for the 2025 season. We will cover the boy’s season tomorrow. Williams led the team this year and finished 96th at the State Meet on Friday.
The girls’ team had solid finishes throughout the year, winning one meet title and finishing third in the Hawkeye Ten Conference meet, with three runners placed on the all-conference team. Vargason mentions Kaitlyn Hickman and Gabrielle Engler, two newcomers, as having a significant impact on the team’s success.
Coach Vargason is seeking more girls to join the program from the Middle School level, aiming to qualify as a team for the State Meet.
